FAQ

Yes, this can be done from the dash cam settings by going to Settings > System > Parking Mode Timer.

“For Parking Mode to work, you need to check the following:

– your dash cam must be either hardwired, connected to an external battery pack or powered by an OBDII Power Table (Parking Mode does not work when using a Cigar Jack Cable)
– Parking Mode must be turned on in the dash cam Settings (Settings > Event > Parking Recording ON)

If you checked all of the above but Parking Mode is still not working, please contact your IROAD dash cam installer/distributor, since the installation might have been done incorrectly.”

“There are several options to power your dash cam:

1. Hardwiring: the dash cam gets powered directly by the vehicle battery through the fuse box (the Low Battery Protection Mode protects the vehicle battery from completely discharging) – Parking Mode Supported

2. OBDII Power Cable: connects to the vehicle’s OBDII port – Parking Mode Supported

3. Cigar Jack Cable: plugs into the cigar port of the vehicle – Parking Mode NOT Supported

4. External Battery Pack: provides longer Parking Mode recording – Parking Mode Supported”

“The amount of footage saved on the SD card before being overwritten will depend and differ according to the storage capacity of the SD card, but also to the dash cam model used and the recording settings (whether Parking Mode is ON or Event detection is ON/OFF etc.). Please check the Storage Time on the product page of each dash cam model for more accurate estimates.

E.g. An X11 2K Front-Rear dash cam will hold on a 32GB SD card approximately 9h of recording when the recordings are 50% Driving & 50% Parking Recording (Time-lapse + Event Detection ON).”

This depends on the capacity and the status of the vehicle battery. IROAD dash cams are equipped with a vehicle battery protection system (LBP) which automatically shuts down the dash cam when it detects that the vehicle battery voltage has gone below a certain level (which can be set by the user).

However, an older or lower capacity battery might drop below that voltage level faster that others, reducing the Parking Mode recording time. This time is generally a few hours, but it can be extended to up to 1-2 days by using an IROAD PowerpackPro external battery pack.

Yes, it does, when used with a GPS antenna. Some IROAD dash cam models come with a built-in GPS antenna, others require an external GPS antenna connection (optional purchase).

“IROAD dash cams without built-in GPS require an external GPS antenna to grab GPS signal.
GPS signal can be lost when in underground parking lots, in a tunnel or in remote areas.

If you have an external GPS antenna, please check that the antenna is properly plugged into the front unit of the dash camera.”

Remove the SD card from the dash cam and check if the dash cam still restarts without the SD card inside of it.

If it does not, please try replacing the SD card. If it still restarts even without the SD card, please contact your local IROAD branch/seller or send us an e-mail at overseas@iroad.kr

Connect to the dash am through the mobile app and tap on the “Factory reset” button in the Settings menu.
Change the Audio recording settings in the Sound Settings menu of the dash cam, either through the mobile app or the PC Viewer.

Press the dash cam’s Power Button for 1.5s untl you hear “Wi-Fi is OFF”. Press again for 1.5s to turn it back on.

IROAD dash cameras need a GPS connection to record and provide speed and location data. Models without built-in GPS require an external GPS antenna to grab GPS signal. If you have an external GPS antenna, please check that the antenna is properly plugged into the front unit of the dash camera.
Yes, you will have no problem using an IROAD dash camera on your EV.
Remote Live View, remote footage playback and all other types of remote functions require that the dash cam is compatible with and connected to IROAD Cloud. If your dash cam model is not Cloud compatible, then you cannot connect to the dash cam remotely.

We recommend mounting the dash cam in a spot on the windshield that will not affect your vision while driving.Usually the recommended spot is either behind the rear-view mirror or to the mirror’s left/right.

Slide the dash cam to the side to easily remove it from its mount. For X5/X6 models, remove the front camera from the plastic hold or unscrew the mount screw.
We recommend opting for a professional installation if not familiar with cars and dash camera installation methods.

The Wi-Fi password cannot be changed. It is always ‘qwertyuiop’.

This is normal, as the smartphone cannot connect to a Wi-Fi with an internet connection while being connected to the dash cam’s Wi-Fi.
Please disconnect from the dash cam to connect to the internet again.

Unfortunately, the video zoom in function is not available in the Mac Player.

This may be caused by the fact that the smartphone prioritizes Wi-Fis with an internet connection over the dash cam Wi-Fi.
Please try to connect to the dash cam when farther away from the Home/Office Wi-Fi.

Please turn OFF LTE mobile data then retry to connect to the dash cam in the app.

When connecting to your dash cam through the mobile app, a pop-up will inform you if a new firmware version is available.
Please tap the “Update” button to allow the firmware update to proceed automatically through the app. Wait for the dash cam to complete the firmware update.
